HVS to attend COP28 as part oF the scottish net-zero delegation

We are delighted to be attending COP28 as part of the Net Zero Business Delegation of 19 industry-leading Net Zero companies from Scotland. This is a great opportunity to showcase our innovative work in zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell vehicles supported by The Scottish Government, Scottish Development International and the Scottish Chambers of Commerce.

All delegates are committed to the delivery of net zero and are aligned to COP28 ambitions, including a commitment to international partnership for climate change solutions, the provision of fair work and inclusive economic growth. We are very much looking forward to demonstrating our net zero expertise and discussing how we can help to propel the world towards cleaner commercial transportation.

We have the resources, skills and ambition to advance green energy technologies in key net zero sectors such as energy transition, climate-tech and hydrogen to a global audience. COP28 will allow us to reaffirm our commitment to accelerate decarbonisation and to highlight our innovative companies that can help in that delivery. This will showcase Scotland as an exciting partner for global businesses to achieve their net zero aspirations.
— Neil Gray, Scotland’s Cabinet Secretary for Wellbeing Economy, Fair Work and Energy
The 28th Conference of Parties, or COP28 is another chance for the world to come together and commit to the real change we need to see if we are to prevent the worst impacts of climate change. The Paris Agreement, signed in 2016 after COP21, was the line in the sand where 195 countries agreed to keep warming below 2 degrees. In 2021, HVS were proud to attend COP26 in our home city Glasgow, but we are still not seeing positive transformation at the scale or pace required.

It will not be one country or one company that provides a solution; COP28 presents a great opportunity to bring all countries together to demonstrate that we are more powerful and can achieve so much more when we work as one. HVS and Scotland are leading the way in hydrogen-powered HGVs and renewable energy generation, and we are excited to showcase our capabilities and hear from the wealth of knowledge gathered from across the world in Dubai.
